Makes 4-6 servings
Ingredients
· 12 tablespoons freshly ground coffee beans
· 6 cups just-boiled filtered water
· Sugar and milk or half-and-half for serving
Steps
1) If using a French press, measure the coarsely ground coffee into the pot. Pour in the just-boiled water. Place the lid on the pot with the strainer just touching the top of the water. If you have a French press cozy, place it over the pot to keep the coffee hot as it brews. Let the coffee steep for 4-6 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your brew. Then slowly push down the strainer as far as it will go to trap the grounds at the bottom.
2) If making drip coffee, place a filter-lined cone over a drip pot and measure the medium-fine-ground coffee into the filter. Very slowly pour in the just-boiled water through the filter, allowing the water to drain into the pot before adding more. Serve the coffee at once with sugar and milk.
