Ingredients
· 2.5 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
· 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
· .5 cup sugar, plus extra for cooking waffles
· .25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
· 2 teaspoons baking powder
· .5 teaspoon of salt
· 1 cup milk
· 3 large eggs
· 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 4 cups ice cream
Steps
1) Microwave chocolate in bowl at 50 percent power, stirring occasionally, until melted, 30 to 60 seconds. Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt together in bowl. Process melted chocolate, milk, eggs, butter, and vanilla in food processor until smooth, about 5 seconds. Add flour mixture and pulse to combine, about 10 pulses; transfer to bowl.
2) Meanwhile, heat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions. Spray hot waffle iron with vegetable oil spray and sprinkle with .5 teaspoon sugar. Spread appropriate mount of batter onto hot waffle iron and cook until toasted and crisp, about 3 minutes; transfer to plate. Repeat with remaining batter Serve waffles hot with ice-cream
